Sugar Rush 1000 Slot: RTP, x1,024 Multipliers and a 25,000x Ceiling

The sequel that took the original candy grid and unscrewed the limiter. Same seven sweets, same 7x7 cluster board — but the sticky Multiplier Spots now climb to x1,024, and the win cap sits five times higher than before. Here is what the paytable actually says, where UK players can spin it, and what that volatility really costs.

Overview

What Is Sugar Rush 1000?

Sugar Rush 1000 game grid

Sugar Rush 1000 is Pragmatic Play's high-volatility rebuild of its 2022 candy grid, released on 18 March 2024. Nothing about the presentation announces that: the same pastel sky, the same seven sweets, the same 7x7 board. The rework is entirely under the hood.

Wins are formed by clusters rather than paylines. Five or more identical symbols touching horizontally or vertically pay out, burst, and are replaced by new symbols falling from above — a tumble sequence that continues until a refill produces nothing. Positions that keep producing wins start carrying multipliers, and those multipliers are where the sequel separates itself.

The number in the title

In the original, a Multiplier Spot topped out at x128. Here the same mechanic doubles all the way to x1,024 — the 1000 in the name is a rounding of that ceiling. Raising the roof on multipliers is what lifted the win cap from 5,000x to 25,000x, and it is also why the volatility meter reads a full five out of five.

Getting started

How to Play Sugar Rush 1000

Four steps cover everything mechanical. The rest is bankroll management, which matters far more here than on a low-variance game.

  1. Set a stake you can repeat

The bet selector runs from £0.20 to £240 and every payout in the table is a multiple of that number. Because the game leans hard on rare outcomes, pick a stake you could place two hundred times over without flinching — that is closer to the realistic length of a hunt than any single session feels.

  2. Spin and let the board settle

Symbols drop into a 7x7 grid. Any group of five or more identical sweets touching side to side or top to bottom is a win. Diagonal contacts do not count, which is the single rule most new players get wrong when they think a cluster should have paid.

  3. Watch the tumbles chain

Winning symbols burst and the gaps refill from above, so one spin can resolve into several consecutive wins. The sequence only stops when a refill produces no new cluster. Every win in the chain is added together before the round is settled.

  4. Track the Multiplier Spots

Each grid position that produces a win gets marked. If a second win lands on that same marked position, a x2 multiplier appears there and doubles every time the spot bursts again — x2, x4, x8 and onwards to a x1,024 ceiling. Multiple spots inside one winning block are added together, not multiplied.

Paytable

Every Symbol and What It Actually Pays

Seven paying sweets, one scatter, no wilds. Values below are multiples of your total stake, read straight off the in-game paytable — so a 12-symbol cluster of pink balls returns 15x whatever you staked, whether that is 20p or £240.

Clusters count symbols touching horizontally or vertically — diagonals do not link. Only the highest win per block is paid, and separate blocks in the same tumble are added together before any Multiplier Spot is applied.

Mechanics

Bonus Features

There is no wild symbol and no base-game modifier here. Four mechanics carry the entire game, and three of them are variations on the same idea: keep the chain going.

  • Core engine

    Tumble

Paid symbols are removed and replaced by new ones falling from above, with no extra stake. The chain keeps running as long as fresh clusters keep forming, which is how a single 20p spin occasionally resolves into a triple-figure return.

  • The big change

    Multiplier Spots

A grid position that pays twice starts carrying a multiplier, doubling on every further burst up to x1,024. In the base game these reset each spin. Getting them high needs long tumble chains, which is exactly why the volatility rating sits at the maximum.

  • Where the money is

    Free Spins

Three scatters award 10 free spins, four give 12, five give 15, six give 20 and a full seven give 30. The crucial difference from the base game is that Multiplier Spots become sticky — whatever value a position reaches, it holds for the rest of the round and keeps doubling.

  • Retrigger

    Extending the round

Scatters landing during free spins add more spins on the same ladder, and the multiplier grid is untouched by the retrigger. A round that starts at 10 spins and retriggers twice with a healthy multiplier map is the realistic route to the headline figures.

Sugar Rush 1000 Buy Free Spins panel

What the Buy Feature looks like

Outside the UK the game shows two purchase panels on the left of the reels: Buy Free Spins at 100x the stake and Buy Super Free Spins at 500x. At a £2 bet those read £200 and £1,000 — the screenshot here is the game running at exactly that stake.

The super version seeds Multiplier Spots on the grid before the round starts, which is why it costs five times more. Neither panel appears on a UK licence.

The maths

RTP, Volatility and What They Cost You

Two games can share an RTP and feel nothing alike. Return tells you what comes back across millions of spins; volatility tells you how brutally uneven the path there will be.

  • 96.53%

    Default RTP

Operators may run 97.50% or 95.50% instead

  • 5 / 5

    Volatility

The maximum on Pragmatic Play’s own scale

  • 1 in 2.9

    Hit frequency

Roughly a third of spins return something

  • 1 in 323

    Scatter frequency

    Average spins between bonus rounds

  • 25,000x

    Win ceiling

Reached about once in 12.8 million spins

Reading those numbers honestly

A hit rate of one in 2.9 sounds generous until you notice what most of those hits are: a five-symbol cluster of orange bears returns 0.2x, which is a fifth of your stake back on a spin that cost you all of it. The frequent small returns are drag, not profit. They simply slow the decline while you wait for the outcomes that matter.

The number to plan around is the scatter frequency. At roughly 323 spins between bonus rounds on average, a £50 bankroll at 20p a spin gives you 250 spins — less than one expected trigger. The same £50 at £1 a spin gives you fifty. That single decision changes your odds of seeing the feature at all far more than anything else you can control.

Where the RTP variant bites

The gap between the 97.50% and 95.50% builds is two full percentage points, which is enormous by slot standards. Two operators can offer the identical-looking game with materially different long-run returns. The active figure is always printed in the game information panel — it takes ten seconds to check and it is the highest-value ten seconds you will spend on this game.

What works well

  • Default 96.53% RTP sits slightly above the industry average for a modern video slot.
  • The 25,000x ceiling is one of the highest published caps in Pragmatic Play’s catalogue.
  • Sticky Multiplier Spots in free spins compound rather than reset, so good rounds escalate fast.
  • Identical maths and visuals on phone, tablet and desktop — nothing is cut on the small screen.
  • Free demo play is widely available, so you can feel the variance before it costs anything.

What to be aware of

  • A 1 in 12.8 million chance at the top prize means most players will never see it.
  • Operators may run 95.50% instead of 96.53% — always check the game info panel before you spin.
  • Long dry spells are structural, not bad luck, and they punish flat-staking at a high bet level.
  • No wild symbol and no in-base modifiers, so the base game can feel repetitive between bonuses.
  • The Buy Feature is absent on UK licences, which removes a shortcut that reviews often assume.

Sequel vs original

Sugar Rush 1000 vs Sugar Rush

The two games look almost identical on screen, and that is the trap. Grid, symbols, tumble logic and free-spin triggers are carried over untouched — the difference is entirely in how far the multipliers are allowed to run, and what that does to the shape of a session.

Which one suits you

If you like a session that keeps ticking over — small clusters landing regularly, the balance moving up and down in gentle steps — the 2022 original is the friendlier board. Its x128 ceiling is reached often enough to feel real, and the 5,000x cap keeps the maths honest.

Sugar Rush 1000 takes the same base game and pushes almost all of the return into rare outcomes. You will sit through longer dry stretches at the same stake, because the money that used to pay out in mid-sized wins has been reallocated to the top of the distribution. That is not a flaw; it is the entire design brief. Just match your stake to it — dropping from 40p to 20p a spin buys twice as many chances to reach a bonus round with the same bankroll.

  • Play credits, nothing at stake
  • Same maths as the real game
  • Works on phone and desktop
Sugar Rush 1000 winning cluster

Pragmatic Play publishes a demo build that runs on play credits with the certified maths intact. It is the correct place to meet this game, because the thing you most need to understand — how long the quiet stretches run — cannot be explained in a paragraph. It has to be sat through.

The demo is not a strategy tool. There is no configuration to discover and no pattern to learn; each spin is independent and the outcome is settled before the symbols finish falling. What the demo teaches is temperament: whether you are comfortable watching a balance drift for two hundred spins on the promise of an occasional escalation.

  • What the demo gets right

Identical RTP maths, identical reel strips, identical multiplier logic. A demo session is a genuine sample of how the game behaves — the only thing missing is the money, in both directions.

  • What it cannot teach you

Demo credits carry no emotional weight. Losing 300 play-money spins feels like nothing; losing 300 real ones is the moment that actually tests your limits. Treat the demo as a rules tutorial, not a rehearsal for discipline.

  • How long to sample

With a scatter frequency of roughly 1 in 323 spins, a hundred demo spins tells you almost nothing about the bonus round. Run at least five hundred before deciding whether the rhythm suits you.

The sticky multipliers are the whole game

I played the original for two years and thought I knew what to expect. The base game here is quieter, no question — but the first time a free-spin round built three multiplier spots into the hundreds, I understood the point. Nothing in the 2022 version escalates like that.

Dropped my stake and the game clicked

Was playing 80p a spin and getting frustrated at how rarely the bonus turned up. Moved down to 20p, got four times the spins from the same budget, and suddenly I was reaching free spins often enough to actually enjoy it. Same game, completely different experience.

  • Aisha M.

Clearest paytable I have read in ages

Cluster games usually leave me guessing about what counts as connected. This one is blunt about it — five touching, no diagonals, highest win per block. I used the demo for half an hour with the rules screen open and had it worked out completely.

  • Gareth L.

    Bristol · June 2026

    Rated 5 out of 5

Runs beautifully on an old phone

My handset is four years old and a lot of newer slots stutter on the tumble animations. This one holds a steady frame rate through six or seven cascades in a row, and the grid stays big enough to read in portrait. No app, no download, nothing to update.

Reader submissions are edited for length and describe individual sessions only. Slot outcomes are random — nothing below predicts what any future spin will do.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions that come up most often about Sugar Rush 1000, answered from the game’s own rules rather than from other reviews.

  • The default setting is 96.53%. Pragmatic Play also ships 97.50% and 95.50% versions, and it is the operator — not the player — who chooses which one runs. The figure in force is always shown in the game information panel, so check it before your first spin rather than assuming the headline number applies.

  • The cap is 25,000 times your total stake, which is five times the ceiling of the original Sugar Rush. Pragmatic Play publishes the odds of reaching it as roughly 1 in 12,800,000 spins, so it is best understood as the theoretical edge of the maths rather than a realistic target.

  • Every grid position that takes part in a win is marked. If a second win lands on that same marked position, a x2 multiplier appears there, and each further burst on that spot doubles it — x4, x8, x16 and so on to a maximum of x1,024. Where a winning cluster covers several marked spots, the multipliers are added together before being applied.

  • Three scatters award 10 free spins, four award 12, five award 15, six award 20 and seven award 30. Inside the round, Multiplier Spots become sticky: they keep whatever value they have reached and continue doubling for the rest of the feature.

  • No. The game ships with two purchase options — 100x the stake for free spins and 500x for the super version — but the UK Gambling Commission does not permit feature-buy mechanics on licensed sites. If you are playing at a UKGC-licensed casino, that button will not be there, and the only route into the bonus is landing scatters naturally.

  • Twenty pence per spin, running up to £240 at the top end. Given how much of the return sits in rare outcomes, the lower half of that range is the sensible place to start — it buys far more spins to reach a bonus round from the same bankroll.

  • They do not. A cluster only forms from symbols touching horizontally or vertically. Two groups that meet at a corner are counted as two separate clusters, and each is paid on its own size rather than combined.

  • Yes, and there is nothing to install. The game is built in HTML5 and runs in any modern mobile browser with the same grid, the same paytable and the same RTP as the desktop build. Our App page covers how to add a casino to your home screen if you want an app-like shortcut.

  • Outcomes come from a random number generator that is independently tested, and every UKGC-licensed operator has to run the certified build. No sequence of past spins changes what the next one does — the game has no memory of a losing streak, and nothing about a long drought makes a bonus more likely.

  • They are separate titles in the same family. Sugar Rush 1000 is the direct high-volatility sequel to the 2022 original, keeping cluster pays and pushing the multiplier ceiling to x1,024. Super Scatter is a different release built around its own scatter mechanic, with its own maths — do not assume the numbers on this page apply to it.
